Secret Teams
Several extra teams can be unlocked by playing the Fantasy Challenge Mode. The NFC Hall of Fame, AFC Hall of Fame, Dummies, Glaciers, Deceivers and Tridents all can be unlocked simply by defeating them in Fantasy Challenge Mode.
No. 1 Draft Pick
Having the first pick in the NFL draft is the only way to ensure an opportunity to sign the hottest players straight from college play. According to normal NFL rules, the first-pick in draft is always awarded to the worst team in the league. However, in Week 17 you can trade your first-round pick for the No. 1 pick in the draft; an offer the last-place team will accept every time. You can repeat this with your other draft picks.
Superstar Hall of Fame
Enter the Superstar Hall of Fame and choose a player in any position except for punter or kicker. Set your character's Awareness to "0" and increase the rest of his stats to the maximum. Score 10 percent or lower on the IQ test, and your character's Awareness will be set to "99" with all of your other stats.
Changing Positions
Changing the position of some players can result in an increased overall rating. For example, free agent Jordan Beck can be signed and changed from a linebacker to a defensive end, bringing his overall rating from a 71 to 90. This trick also can be used in reverse. For example, change LaDainian Tomlinson's position to linebacker and offer a trade for him. Because he has a trade rating of "F," you can trade nearly any player from any position for him. Once he is on your team, change him back to running back and an overall score of 99.
Fantasy Challenge Mode
Once you complete a league and win the championship in Fantasy Challenge Mode, you will not be able to revisit that league to pick up any players you may want. Make sure you have all the desired characters on your team before playing the championship game.
