How to Manually Enter a Code for Action Replay Max on the GameCube

The Action Replay Max is a cheat device used to modify games for the Nintendo GameCube. The device allows codes to be entered to modify game play. The Action Replay Max comes preloaded with codes for a wide range of different games. Games or codes released after the Action Replay Max need to be manually entered to work. Manually entered codes are saved to the Action Replay Max and do not need to be re-entered in future game sessions. The codes can be selected off the code list like preloaded cheats.

Action Replay Max disc
Action Replay Max memory card
Nintendo GameCube console
GameCube controller

Instructions

  Insert the Action Replay Max disc into the GameCube. Insert the memory card into memory slot B of the controller connected to player 1.

  Turn on the GameCube. The Action Replay main menu will appear.

  Select Action Replay Codes from the menu.

  Select the region the game was released in. For example, games released in the United States or Canada would be ̶0;American.̶1;

  Select the title of the game from the list that appears. If the game title does not appear, select the ̶0;Add New Game̶1; option from the top of the game list and enter the game title. The code select menu will appear in either case.

  Select ̶0;Add New Cheat̶1; from the top of the code list.

  Enter the Action Replay code into the prompt. A keyboard will appear on the screen. Use the direction buttons to move the cursor around the screen. Press the A button to select a letter. The X button will delete the last character entered. Select the "Done" button on the keyboard when you finish entering the code.

  Enter a description of the function of the code into the prompt. This will be the entry that appears in the code menu when you want to enable the code. The same keyboard used to enter the code will appear for this step.
