How to Snag a Shadow Lugia

In "Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness," a criminal group called Cipher steals Pokemon and closes their hearts, turning them into shadow Pokemon. Cipher's leader, Greevil, commands the strongest Pokemon, shadow Lugia. Pokemon trainers normally cannot catch other trainer's Pokemon, but a device called the Snag Machine lets you capture any shadow Pokemon, including Lugia. If you have the Master Ball, combine its power with the Snag Machine to catch Lugia instantly.

Instructions

  Go to Citadark Isle as soon as the area opens. After you reach Citadark Isle, leave the area and head to the Pokemon HQ Lab. Speak to Professor Krane in the lab to get the Master Ball. You only get one Master Ball, so do not use it until you find shadow Lugia.

  Return to Citadark Isle. Go through the caves and battle any trainers that attack you. Some trainers have shadow Pokemon, such as Dugtrio, Electabuzz and Mr. Mime. Snag these shadow Pokemon, if desired.

  Proceed through Citadark Isle until a man named Eldes confronts you. Capture his Salamence, and then defeat his team. After you win the fight, use the nearby healing machine to heal your team. Use the PC to remove one Pokemon from the team. You need an empty team slot to snag shadow Lugia.

  Go into the next room to confront Grand Master Greevil. Greevil sends his shadow Lugia to attack you.

  Throw the Master Ball at shadow Lugia to catch it immediately. If you used the Master Ball, use your Pokemon's regular attacks to weaken Lugia. Use an attack that puts Lugia to sleep or paralyzes it. Throw ultra balls when Lugia's health bar turns red. It usually takes several attempts to capture Lugia this way.
