Released for the Nintendo Gamecube in 2005, "Sonic Gems Collection" is a compilation of several classic games from the "Sonic the Hedgehog" series, including "Sonic CD," the racing game "Sonic R" and "Sonic the Fighters." In the "Fighters" portion of the game, there are many Sonic characters to choose from, including Knuckles, Tails and even the villain Dr. Eggman. And while Super Sonic is not immediately accessible from the start of the game, you can unlock him by progressing through the game.

Start a single-player game and choose Sonic as your fighter.

Win eight fights in a row without losing a single round. Your ninth opponent will now be Metal Sonic.

Win one round against Metal Sonic, then press "Away," "Punch" and "Kick" at the same time -- Sonic will now turn into Super Sonic. You can now play as Super Sonic until the end of the game.
