How to Get Spiders to Come Out on Animal Crossing

One way to pass the time in "Animal Crossing: City Folk" is to catch fish and insects. Blathers, the owl who runs the museum, accepts one of each type of creature into the museum's collection, and Tom Nook pays thousands of bells for the rarest species. Spiders hang out in fruit trees, but you won't see them at first -- you have to shake a tree to reveal them. "Animal Crossing: City Folk" takes place in real time and many of the creatures are seasonal, so you may have to wait for the right time of year to catch a spider.

Instructions

    • 1

Play "Animal Crossing: City Folk" during spider seasons. Spiders appear at all times of day from March through June and in September. They also appear between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. in July and August, and between 11 p.m. and 4 p.m. in October.

    • 2

Buy a net from Tom Nook for 500 bells.

    • 3

Walk up to a fruit tree. Press the "A" button to shake the tree. If a spider lives in the tree, it will come out of hiding. Keep shaking trees until you find a spider.

    • 4

Equip the net. Press the "A" button or flick the Wii remote in the spider's direction to catch it.
