How Do You Defeat a Doxy in Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban for GameCube?

The Doxy, a many-limbed creature resembling a large fairy, is one of the enemies you'll encounter in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" for GameCube. Several Doxies will appear near Hagrid's hut during a potions class quest, and others are scattered randomly throughout the game. You can defeat a Doxy with nothing more than your standard attack spell, but it's best to keep antidotes on hand for the poison it injects with its bite.

  Avoid being bitten by the Doxy, if possible. Its bite is poisonous, and you'll steadily lose health if it nips you.

  Keep some antidotes to uncommon poisons on hand to drink if bitten; these will counteract the Doxy's poison and prevent you from losing health.

  Hit the Doxy repeatedly with the Flipendo spell to defeat it. You want to use the upgraded version of this spell, which you can obtain by visiting Fred and George's shop as Hermione, asking them about Defense Against the Dark Arts, and completing the task they set you. This version of Flipendo will make short work of the Doxy, but even the basic version will defeat it with enough hits.
