How to Make a Golden Fishing Rod in Animal Crossing

"Animal Crossing," the 2002 title from Nintendo, immerses players in a village populated by talking animals. Players can perform various activities, such as fishing, to make a living and buy bigger houses and home decorations. Special golden versions of the tools used in the "Animal Crossing" world can be obtained by completing various tasks. The golden fishing rod gives the player a much higher chance of catching a fish.

Instructions

  Purchase a normal fishing rod from Tom Nook's general store. If you do not have enough bells, the in-game currency of "Animal Crossing," you can speak to villagers to acquire errands to perform for them. Once complete, the villagers will reward you with bells or items that can be sold to Tom Nook for bells.

  Fish with your normal rod until you have caught at least one of each fish from the pond, river and lake. Trading fish with friends will not work, you must catch the fish yourself to obtain the golden rod.

  Speak with Mayor Tortimer after catching at least one of every fish in the game. Mayor Tortimer will congratulate you on your accomplishment and provide you with the golden rod as a reward.
