Exit the prison with Tricky after you rescue him. Go through the tunnel and follow the path around the fence. Attack the Blue GrubTub Fungi with your staff once. Tricky eats the bugs and gains some energy.
Press the "A" button to command Tricky to dig in the area. He digs up a switch. Press "A" to make Tricky stand on the switch. A nearby gate opens. Head through the gate, pull the switch and return to Tricky.
Walk to the edge of the cliff. Jump down and leap to the platform to cross the lava pit. Climb up to the next level of the mountain. When the Find Secret prompt appears on the screen, press "A." Tricky breaks through the cracked wall.
Go through the tunnel. Use the staff to attack the SharpClaws at the end of the tunnel. When they die, Tricky tells you to use the Heel command if you want him to stop running ahead of you. This keeps him safe from approaching danger.
Walk over to the rotting tree trunk and tell Tricky to dig in the dirt. You receive a staff upgrade. Proceed to the next area.
Find three plant roots buried in the snow and have Tricky dig them out of the ground. Take each root to the hungry SnowHorn dinosaur. When you feed him three, he gives you a Scarab Bag, used for holding money, as well as an ice block.
Stand in front of the ice block and hold "A." Push the ice block into the nearby hole. Jump on the ice block and jump up to the ledge above you.
Smash boxes and have Tricky dig until you collect 25 Scarabs. Give the Scarabs to the BribeClaw who blocks your path to make him move out of the way.
Jump into the water when you get to the sewer. Let the water carry you through the tunnel. When the tunnel ends, pull the lever, and the gate to ThornTail Hollow opens. Tricky leaves your side to return home. Follow him to complete the mission.
