In "Animal Crossing," your town thrives when it is clean and attractive to new residents. If you make the town appealing, more residents will move in and stay. If you fail to maintain your "Animal Crossing" town, fewer residents will move in, and the residents you do have will move away. Town maintenance is simple, but it requires dedication.

  Clean the town of weeds daily. Since "Animal Crossing" progresses in real time, check in every day. Make a sweep of the town and pick up all the weeds you find. Throw the weeds and they fall apart.

  Recycle all trash. If you find trash on the ground, pick it up and drop it into a recycling bin. If you catch trash when you fish, do not toss it on the ground; throw it in the recycling bin.
