How to Beat Flaahgra

"Metroid Prime," a video game released for the Nintendo Gamecube, is protagonist Samus Aran's first adventure in the trilogy, which is set on the planet Tallon IV. While exploring the planet, Samus uncovers new weapons, enemies and a wide array of new bosses, such as Flaahgra. This plant-like boss is encountered in the sunchamber in the Chozo Ruins, and is the second boss encountered in the game. Players must use a combination of all the items earned up to this point to defeat him.

Instructions

  Avoid Flaahgra's attacks by holding "L1" on the Gamecube controller, pressing "B" and moving the analog stick in a direction to dash quickly in that direction. Flaahgra's attacks consist of shooting energy beams, attacking you with a melee attack and planting spores on the ground near your you.

  Shoot Flaahgra with two missiles to stun him. Press "Y" on the Gamecube controller to shoot missiles.

  Shoot the dish that is providing Flaahgra sunlight. There are four dishes, each located in a corner of the room. Shoot a missile at the red dot on the back of the dish to stop the flow of sunlight, causing Flaaghra to retreat into his shell.

  Press X to morph into a ball, and roll into one of the tubes surrounding Flaahgra's shell. Plant a bomb at the end of the tube next to Flaahgra's shell by pressing "A." This is the only way to damage Flaahgra and 25 percent of his health is removed for each bomb. However, after the first bomb, Flaahgra reappears from his shell.

  Continue to shoot the dishes and avoid Flaahgra's attacks. Each time you successfully bomb Flaahgra, another sunlight generating dish is added - up to a maximum of four. All dishes must be turned off before Flaahgra can be bombed.

  Bomb Flaahgra four times to destroy him. His health is located at the top of the screen at all times.
