How to Defeat the Spider Boss in Metroid Prime 2

To earn the Spider Ball, one of the most powerful techniques available to Samus Aran in "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes," you will have to defeat the Spider Guardian boss. The Spider Guardian is a powerful foe. She hides behind a seemingly impenetrable energy shield and deals massive amounts of damage. You must fight her in a constantly shifting Morph Ball Maze, and you must stay in Morph Ball form throughout the battle. To defeat the Spider Guardian boss, you will have to use your bombs to weaken her shield.

Instructions

- 1
  Throw a bomb at the blue energy circle surrounding the Spider Guardian. The circle will turn red, and the Spider Guardian will begin rolling faster.

  Hit the energy circle with two more bombs. The circle will turn green, and the Spider Guardian will slow down again. A slot for bombs will open up on the right side of the maze.

  Toss a bomb into the bomb slot. This causes the course of the maze to shift and throws the Spider Guardian into an electrical gate, causing her damage.

  Repeat the previous steps five times to defeat the Spider Guardian boss, who will explode in a ball of orange light when defeated. Two Bomb Gates, one on either side of the tunnel, will appear your last time. Do not lob shots hastily at the gates; instead, make your shots count by aiming carefully and hitting your target on the first try.
