How to Change Your Yoshi Color

Yoshis are dinosaur-like creatures that have been recurring characters in the Mario video game franchise for over twenty years and they play a small but vital role in Super Mario Sunshine. Riding the Yoshis in this game allows you to jump much greater distances, eat enemies to instantly defeat them and spit juice that can dissolve certain substances and transform enemies into platforms. The color of the Yoshi determines how these transformed platforms behave and you may need a specific platform to reach a particular place; thankfully it is easy to change your Yoshi's color.

     Locate a Yoshi egg and bring it the fruit that it desires to hatch it. Mount the Yoshi.

     Determine the color that you want the Yoshi to be: purple Yoshis make platforms that move horizontally, pink Yoshis make vertically-moving platforms and orange Yoshis make stationary ones.

     Locate and have your Yoshi eat a pineapple or lemon to turn your Yoshi orange. Locate durians or red peppers and make your Yoshi eat them to turn your Yoshi purple. Have your Yoshi eat bananas and coconuts so that his color changes to pink.
