How to Use a Home Run Bat

The Home Run Bat is a useful item in all of Mario's Super Smash Brothers games, and is one of the most powerful items --- just below the hammer. Ordinary attacks with the bat cause only minor damage, but you see the bat's true power when a character performs a "Smash Attack" while wielding it. If the attack connects, it will send the unfortunate target flying out of the ring for an instant knockout on all but the largest stages.

     Approach the bat when it appears and press the "A" button to pick it up.

     Tap the "A" button without moving the analog stick to perform a mild attack with the bat.

   • 3

     Hold left or right and tap the "A" button to perform a medium attack with the bat. This is slightly slower and also slightly more powerful than a mild attack.

   • 4

     Flick the control stick left or right and tap the "A" button at the same time to perform a smash attack.
