The Main Characters in Animal Crossing for the GameCube

"Animal Crossing" centers on a humanoid character -- controlled by the player -- who moves into a village populated by animals with human characteristics. There are a great many bit part characters in the game and villages are populated randomly when you create your new game. However, there are a selection of main characters who will always appear in your village. As "Animal Crossing" is unique to the Nintendo, it has only appeared on the DS, Wii and Gamecube.
  1. Tom Nook

    • Tom Nook is the shopkeeper; entering his shop will allow you to buy and sell items and check your inventory. The more you spend in Tom's shop, the more likely it is he will expand his store to sell more items. Tom also runs a monthly raffle which he conducts at the front of his store.

    Mable and Sable

    • Mable and Sable are two porcupine sisters who also run a shop. In their shop you can design an image to go on one of the shirts or umbrellas which they sell by talking to Mable. Sable usually remains silent and appears to be constantly working on new designs for products.

    Blathers

    • Blathers is an owl who never seems to sleep. He can be found working at the museum 24 hours a day, although he is far more active at night than during the day. It is Blather to whom you submit your findings for inclusion in the museum, although doing so will reveal why he is called Blathers; he will not stop talking for a while.

    Copper and Booker

    • Copper is a dog who works in the police station. Unlike his colleague -- Booker, who is also a dog -- Copper is a competent police dog and can tell you who is coming to visit your town and what items are in the lost and found. Booker, on the other hand, never seems sure of anything.

    Pelly and Phyllis

    • Pelly and Phyllis are female pelicans who work at the post office. As the post office is open 24 hours a day, the two pelicans take it in turns and work shifts. Pelly works the day shift and is sweet and always happy to help. Phyllis, who works the night shift, is the exact opposite and is cruel and mean-spirited.

    Tortimer

    • Tortimer is the mayor of your town. He is an old tortoise and often found beside the wishing well. Talk to Tortimer on different holidays to receive different gifts. These gifts include a New Year's shirt on New Year's day, a globe on nature day and a sparkler at the fireworks show.
