How to Hook Up My GameCube to My TV With an RF Adapter

Nintendo's GameCube system has been around for years and still has many gaming enthusiasts playing it. However, a large number of older television sets do not feature the typical RCA-type (red, white and yellow) A/V (audio/video) inputs and only offer a coaxial-type or RF input jack. If this is the case, you can connect an NES GameCube system to the television through an RF adapter that includes an "RF Switch" and an "RF Modulator."

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the television and place the NES GameCube system near the TV.

    • 2

Remove the coaxial cable plugged into the back of the television. Replace this with the cable coming from the RF switch marked "TV." Connect the cable you removed from the television to the RF switch marked "ANT."

    • 3

Attach the RF modulator section of the RF adapter into the back of the GameCube system using the "Analog AV Out" jack.

    • 4

Connect the wire coming from the RF switch that is marked "Control Deck" to the RF modulator's "RF Out" jack if not already connected.

    • 5

Select either Channel 3 or 4 on both the RF switch and the RF modulator to correspond with the setting you plan to use on your television.

    • 6

Plug all components into a power supply and turn them on. Put a game in the GameCube system. Change the channel on the TV to either 3 or 4 to play the GameCube.
