In Zelda Wind Waker How Do You Put an Island on Your Map?

In "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker," the once-royal land of Hyrule has been completely flooded and now rests at the bottom of the ocean. All that remains are what were once the highest mountain peaks in the land, now tiny islands scattered throughout the sea. As you begin your journey, you obtain a blank map. As you travel across the sea, the islands you encounter will appear on your map. But first, you must feed some hungry fish.

Instructions

    • 1

Sail to a major island, like Fire Mountain or Forest Haven. Look for a small sail boat docked at the island's harbor.

    • 2

Get out of your boat and go into the other boat. This is Beedle's shop. Inside, buy a Bait Bag for 20 rupees.

    • 3

Purchase several servings of All-Purpose Bait for 10 rupees each. One box of bait contains three servings, and the Bait Bag is able to hold up to eight boxes. Buy as many boxes as you can afford.

    • 4

Sail around the ocean until you see small green fish leaping out of the water. Approach the fish and slow the boat.

    • 5

Press the "L" button to target the fish. Press "A" to talk to the fish, who asks for food. Press "A" again to give a piece of bait to the fish. In return, he marks the island on your map for future reference.
