Pac-Man World 2 for GameCube Hints & Tips

To survive 2002's "Pac-Man World 2" on the GameCube, you'll have to make use of all Pac-Man's abilities and power-ups. A working knowledge of Pac-Man's moves and a healthy supply of extra lives will enable you to work your way through the stages with ease. During your mission to defeat Pac-Man's ghostly enemies, you'll encounter plenty of collectible items and diversions to make the game even more entertaining.
  1. Butt-Bouncing and Offensive Moves

    • The butt-bounce is an integral tool in Pac-Man's arsenal. If you fall or need to get down from a high point, you can butt-bounce down to avoid losing any wedges. To perform this move, press the GameCube's A button twice. Pac-Man's offensive abilities also play a major part in gameplay. To do a Rev Roll, hold and release the B button. For a Flip Kick, press A and then B.

    Time Trial Clocks

    • To begin Time Trial game mode, hit the stopwatch at the beginning of the stage. You'll need to conserve valuable seconds in this mode, so pay attention when you collect the clock items throughout the stage. These items stop time, but different types won't work together. For instance, if you collect a 4 clock, then a 2 clock immediately afterward, the 2 will cancel out the 4.

    1-Up Loop

    • A 1-Up Loop is an area of the game where you can collect several extra lives and then repeat the process over and over as many times as you wish. The best area for this technique occurs in the Butane Pain stage. Progress through the level until you encounter the blue B-Doing. Bounce up on it and you'll find a checkpoint on the next tree. Leap diagonally backwards and Pac-Man will grab onto a Red B-Doing. If you fall, butt-bounce on the tree to avoid being damaged. Work your way back to the blue B-Doing and bounce on it. Bounce on the angled B-Doings in the pit below and you'll come to a green switch on a tree. Hit the switch to collect eight 1-Ups. Drop into the pit and repeat the process to accumulate as many lives as you want. When you're finished, don't forget to complete the level, or you'll lose everything.

    Unlockable Options

    • By collecting tokens during gameplay, you can unlock playable versions of some classic games in the Pac-Man franchise. For the original "Pac-Man" game, collect 10 tokens. To get "Pac-Attack," collect 30 tokens. "Pac-Mania" requires 100 tokens to unlock. For "Ms. Pac-Man," collect 180 tokens. You can also unlock the Museum and Jukebox options. The Museum is a collection of concept art and pictures, which requires 150 tokens. The Jukebox is a music test, requiring 60 tokens to unlock.
