Nintendo GameCube Games for Ten Year Olds

The Nintendo GameCube was released in 2001. It has a large library of over 900 games in all genres, including many that are geared towards children. These games include "Mario Kart: Double Dash!!" "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess," "Super Smash Bros. Melee" and "Super Mario Strikers," to name a few.
  1. Racing

    • "Mario Kart: Double Dash!!" is a racing game that any ten-year-old can enjoy, as it features easy controls and fun gameplay. "Double Dash!!" is the GameCube's installment of the popular Mario Kart series, and it's the sequel to "Mario Kart 64" on the Nintendo 64. In "Double Dash!!," kids can race with nearly 20 of their favorite Nintendo characters, including Mario, Luigi, Wario and Peach. "Double Dash!!" is an arcade-style racer that features power-ups, including character-specific ones. "Double Dash!!" also has over 20 levels and three different game modes: Grand Prix, Time Trials and Battle. Ten-year-old kids will enjoy the cooperative team play and the basic racing control scheme (brake/accelerate/drift). They can also link up two to eight different GameCubes on separate televisions via a LAN connection.

    Adventure

    • "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" was one of the last games developed for the GameCube. Ten-year-old kids will love the ability to transform into a wolf at any point in the game, as "Twilight Princess" puts them in charge of the hero Link as he maneuvers through a perilous world full of traps and dangers. While "Twilight Princess" is only a single-player game, kids will enjoy one of the most impressive GameCube games both graphically and conceptually, as the game is filled with beautiful environments.

    Fighting

    • "Super Smash Bros. Melee" is a fighting game that will appeal to most ten-year-old kids. SSBM's pace is fast, and it features four-person multiplayer action, which ten-year-olds will really enjoy with their friends. They'll also enjoy SSBM's variety, with 25 hidden and instantly playable Nintendo franchise characters like Kirby, Link, Mario and Samus. SSBM has many game modes, including the traditional arena-by-arena single-player mode, a hidden melee single-player mode, a multiplayer mode, an event match mode, a stadium mode, a versus mode, a special melee mode and a training mode, among others. SSBM has 18 playable arenas to start, and many more are unlockable. SSBM, like all fighting games, features violent behavior, but no blood, gore or graphic violence is seen in this game.

    Sports

    • "Super Mario Strikers" is another GameCube game that ten-year-olds will really enjoy playing because of its fast pace. "Strikers" features all of their favorite Nintendo characters, including Mario, Luigi, Wario and Donkey Kong. "Strikers" is an arcade sports game instead of a simulation, which is good for kids because there are power-ups and other bonuses available to prevent boredom. Playing offense and defense is equally fun, and kids will love the ability to "super strike'" the ball when their players have it by using their power-ups. "Strikers" has a cooperation mode, a versus mode and a single-player mode.
