"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"
"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," released in 2002, was actually the first "Harry Potter" GameCube game, even though the second film inspired it. "Chamber of Secrets" is an action/adventure game that lets you play as Harry during the events of the second movie. You'll learn magic spells and attend classes between central events.
"Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
"Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," the first "Harry Potter" video game made, did not appear on the GameCube until 2003, two years after its initial release on other consoles. The success of the "Chamber of Secrets" game prompted Electronic Arts to improve and port this game over to the GameCube. The game features revised gameplay and additional spells, and it builds upon the gameplay found in "Chamber of Secrets." In "Sorcerer's Stone," you'll play as Harry as you battle through the memorable events of the film adaptation of the first book.
"Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"
The 2004 release "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" also features action/adventure gameplay on the GameCube. According to IGN reviewer Matt Casamassina, the game features similar gameplay to the earlier two "Harry Potter" GameCube releases. You'll play through the events of the third film and partake in original lessons and activities. However, Casamassina rates this game slightly lower than the previous two, citing the banality of a similar formula.
"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"
2005's "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," the final "Harry Potter" game released on the GameCube, features action/adventure gameplay that's based on the fourth film in the franchise. Although it's not rated as high as "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," IGN's Matt Casamassina rates "Goblet of Fire" the second best of the four GameCube "Harry Potter" games. He praised the varied levels, but questioned Electronic Arts' decision to make the game more simple and kid-friendly, considering the darker tone of the movie.
