Super Mario Brothers Sunshine Instructions

"Super Mario Sunshine" was released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002. In the game, a player controls Mario as he searches for the 120 Shines on Delfino Isle. Unlike the older "Super Mario Bros." games, "Super Mario Sunshine" has a wide array of moves for Mario to perform. If you no longer have the manual for your game, it can be difficult to figure out many of these moves.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the analog stick to move Mario. Mario's speed is based on how hard the analog stick is pushed. For example, if the stick is gently pushed up, Mario will tiptoe. If it is pushed as far up as it can go, Mario will run.

    • 2

Press "B" to talk to any villagers on Delfino Isle. "B" is also used to pick up items and dive underwater.

    • 3

Press "A" to make Mario jump. Pressing "A" three times in a row will cause Mario to do a triple jump. Pressing "A" followed by the "L" button will cause Mario to do a ground pound. Pressing "A" while rotating the analog stick will cause Mario to do a spin jump.

    • 4

Use the "L" button to position the camera behind Mario. Additionally, use the yellow C-Stick and the "Y" button for other camera options.

    • 5

Press and hold "R" to spray water from Mario's backpack. Use the analog stick to control the spray of the water. Use the backpack to clean up the ink spills on Delfino Isle, which opens up new levels. Press the "R" button while in a pool of water to refill your backpack.

    • 6

Enter the "M" portals scattered around Delfino Isle to be taken to the individual stages. Each stage has a Shine to get, whether it is defeating a boss, collecting a certain amount of coins or making it to the end of the level.
