On Shadow the Hedgehog Stage 4, How Do You Do the Neutral Mission When You Meet Espio?

You first meet Espio in Stage 4-D, a virtual world known as the Mad Matrix, which is inside of Eggman's Computer. To clear the Neutral Mission for the stage, you must ignore most of the stage and proceed directly to the red tower in the distance. While this may sound easy enough, there are many challenging puzzles, barriers, enemies and maze-like Speed Highways that stand between you and the goal ring at the end of the stage.

Instructions

  Move forward as soon as the stage starts and Espio appears. When prompted, answer with "I need to find the exit from this cyberspace." This is the neutral mission for this stage.

  Continue forward until you reach the multicolored panels and the question mark. Press the left panel once, then press the one on the right twice. This turns all three panels the same color and allows you to proceed. Destroy one of the Egg Pawns in this area and take its gun.

  Continue along the linear path until you get to the first checkpoint. Jump onto the pole just beyond the checkpoint and climb to the top. Take either the left or right path; both lead to the same destination. Jump onto the red pad to get transported to the next set of platforms.

  Take either the right or left path once the red pad reaches its destination. This leads to a steep path heading up to some enemies. Destroy or ignore them and continue to the end of the path, where you will find a set of two colored panels similar to the ones in the beginning of the stage. Shoot the left one once and the right one three times to make the barrier disappear.

  Continue forward once the large block appears, and jump up to the tower's control room. Activate the terminal in this room to launch into a Speed Highway. Go right, then straight to end up on a platform. Go to the right path, then go left, right, right, left, left, left, right, left and straight --- this series of paths appears very quickly, so pay close attention as you move through them so that you don't miss one of the turns. Go straight, but press up against the left side of the path to end up near a crate with five rings in it. Go right and stay against the right side of the path to end up at the red tower.

  Jump onto the green pads to reach the checkpoint and continue forward. Move along the linear path of rings until you reach another multicolored panel puzzle. Hit each of the red ones three times to turn them all the same color and make the barrier disappear. Defeat the Egg Pawns in this area and proceed up the hill.

  Find the multicolored platform puzzle at the top of the hill and walk back and forth on the panels until they turn the same color --- doing this ensures that you will be on the platform as it ascends. Jump up to the circuit panel to launch onto another Speed Highway. Follow the path to the end to be launched into a strange realm where you are floating.

  Float forward until you reach the paths made of rings. Follow either one of them to get to another multicolored panel puzzle. Hit them until they change color and turn into an ascending platform --- ride it up to the goal ring and touch it to finish the stage.
