Mario Party 7 Games

The "Party" series is unlike other Mario games. Instead of gathering coins and jumping on enemies like the goomba, the players compete against each other in dozens of mini-games. Although many of these games are just diversions, several stand above the rest for their innovation, elegance or complexity. Mastering the harder games will give players an edge for the rest of "Mario Party 7."
  1. Bubble Brawl

    • You and your opponents are on the surface of a giant bubble. Your goal is to knock the other players off. The last one standing wins. Press the "B" button to punch. Repeatedly strike your opponents and move closer to the edge, and you'll eventually push them overboard.

    Fun Run

    • In "Fun Run," the players are lined up at the bottom of a tower and must race to the top. Along the way, they'll have to avoid obstacles, leap over collapsed stairs, and stop short of being crushed by sliding walls. This mini-game is highly unpredictable, and since anything can happen, players are forced to think on their toes.

    Take Me Ohm

    • "Take Me Ohm" is a game of reflexes. The players are lined up on one side of the map opposite a set of Thwomps. These monsters will send waves of electricity your way. You must jump over the waves to stay alive. If you get hit, you get taken out of the game. The last player standing wins.

    Kart Wheeled

    • Fans of "Mario Kart" will relate to "Kart Wheeled." Although the mini-game is far simpler, it nevertheless contains many familiar elements, such as racing in go-karts and ramming into other players for spin-out disasters. Unfortunately, "Kart Wheeled" doesn't include popular features from "Mario Kart" such as interactive maps and attack items. The first player across the finish line wins.

    Oil Crisis

    • Although players are put into a car, "Oil Crisis" isn't a racing game. It's a game of resource management. Players have a limited fuel supply, and if they do not gather more oil along the way, their vehicle will sputter out. Players have to shout commands into the GameCube mic, such as "Left," "Right" and "Mushroom." The player who gets the furthest wins.

    Flashfright

    • In "Flashfright," one player is given a flashlight. His goal is to shine the light on each of the other three players. They can freely run through the game map, hiding behind statues to avoid attention. Basically, "Flashfright" is a game of tag.

    Tile and Error

    • Players are divided into teams of two and then placed on a grid. The goal is to convert each tile of the grid to your team's color by hitting the tiles. In the process, you can also hit the other players and knock them off the grid.

    Herbicidal Maniac

    • "Herbicidal Maniac" is a simple shooting game. Players are divided into teams of two trying to shoot piranha plants. Once all their plants have been destroyed, the team wins the round. The first team to win three rounds wins the mini-game. In the process, they must also avoid shooting spike bombs, as hitting one will cause more piranha plants to appear.
