How to Play the GameCube Game Open Season

"Open Season" adapts the movie of the same name for the GameCube. You can play as either Boog (the bear) or Elliot (the deer). Each has its own controls, although some controls stay the same for both characters. Boog is trying to reach his hometown and will have to earn the respect of the creatures of the forest by getting rid of the hunters. Putting Timberline Forest back under nature's control and away from the hunters will persuade the other creatures to help you get back to your hometown.

Instructions

Elliot Instructions

  Use the control stick to control Elliot's movement. Press "Up" on the control pad to use the first-person camera. Press "Right" on the control pad to show the Energy Bar.

  Press the "B" button to grab items and objects. Press "A" to jump. Hold down the "R" button to run.

  Press the "X" button to talk. Press "Y" to taunt enemies. Press the "Z" button to center the camera behind Elliot.
Boog Instructions

  Use the control stick for character movement. Press the "A" button to roar. Press the "Y" button to call Elliot.

  Press "Up" on the control pad for a first-person camera view. Press "Left" to smell objects. Press "Right" to display the Energy Bar; press "Down" to cancel a throw.

  Press the "B" button to grab or throw an object. Hold the "L" button to hide. Hold the "R" button to run.

  Press "Z" to center the camera behind Boog. Use the "C" stick to control the camera movement. Press "Start" to pause the game.
