How to Get a Double Bed on Harvest Moon Magical Melody for GameCube

Whether it's for a step in getting married, or just to spruce the place up, every Magical Melody home should have a double bed, Be prepared, though, to invest a lot of time into gathering resources.

Instructions

  1. Get the Double Bed

Make friends with any of the workshop staff. Raise the heart level of one of the workshop staff to at least one. If you're not sure, workshop is located southwest of the duck bridge. This can be done for Woody, Joe or Kurt. Giving gifts that characters "adore" will raise their heart level quickly. Look for a swirling heart icon above the character's head to know if he adores the gift. For reference, though, Woody adores the HQ Turnip and Pickled Turnip. Joe adores the Tuna Steak, HQ Turnip and Salted Rainbow Trout. Kurt adores the Tomato Sandwich and Blue Mist Flower.

Upgrade your house to level three. Talk to any of the workshop staff you have a good relationship with and select the remodel option. Upgrading a secondary home won't help you get the double bed, so don't bother with any new construction projects at this point. The upgrade from level two to three will cost 80 lumber and 11000G. If you haven't yet upgraded to level two, the initial upgrade will cost 40 lumber and 3000G. Yes, it's expensive, but it's still better than building from scratch.

Buy the double bed. After your main house is at level three, the double bed will become unlocked at the workshop. There are four styles available. Look for any bed with an L (large) designation. The costs will range from 3500-5000G, depending on how fancy you want your new bed to be. Getting the double bed is necessary to unlock the option to marry. If you're a female character, you can even marry one of the guys from the shop. Just don't expect that to make home upgrades any cheaper.
