How to Get Electabuzz in Fire Red

Capturing an Electabuzz in "Pokémon: FireRed" can make the difference between having an advantage over multiple gym leaders and not being able to defeat some at all. Besides being an overall great fighter and defender, this electrically-charged Pokémon has an advantage against water, flying, dragon and normal-type Pokémon. The process of finding and catching an Electabuzz requires a level 30 Pokémon, a Pokémon that knows how to "Surf" and specific items because of Electabuzz's strength and rarity.

Instructions

Searching for Electabuzz

  Purchase an "Ultra Ball" or a "Great Ball" in Celadon City, Cinnbar Island, Fuchsia City or Saffron City. All of the cities are south of Cerulean City.

  Fly to Cerulean City and walk east on route 10. Cut through the tree that blocks your path and travel through the mountainous terrain.

  "Surf" on the water to the east of the Rock Tunnel.

  Travel south and access the area to the west of the waterway. Enter the Power Plant and walk around for 20 to 30 minutes or until you meet an Electabuzz
Fighting Electabuzz

  Attack Electabuzz with ground-type attacks from Pokémon such as Geodude and Rhyhorn. Do not use water-type Pokémon, because they are weak against electric-type Pokémon like Electabuzz.

  Use a sleeping technique like the "Hypnosis" that Pokémon such as Gastly and Hypno learn at level 1.

  Access your "Item" bag and choose your "Ultra Pokéball" or "Great Pokéball."
- 8
  Wait until the Electabuzz gets into the Pokéball. It could take as many as five attempts to catch Electabuzz.
