How to Get Luigi on Super Smash Bros. Melee

"Super Smash Bros. Melee" is the GameCube sequel to the blockbuster "Super Smash Bros." for the Nintendo 64 game console. Like its predecessor, it pits characters from the Nintendo franchise against each other in an all-out brawl. Also like the first game, the character Luigi has to be unlocked through a series of in-game actions.

Instructions

Adventure Mode
- 1
  Start an Adventure game with any character and get to the end of the first stage. Do not cross into the finish zone, however. Wait until the seconds indicator on the clock ends with the number two to cross into the finish zone. For example, a time of 04:32:99 would activate the unlocking process, as the seconds indicator ends with the number two.

  Watch the humorous cutscene of Luigi interacting with Mario. You're going to fight Luigi after the cutscene, however, so be prepared.

  Beat both Luigi and Peach and continue the Adventure mode until you've defeated the final boss. Luigi will challenge you after you've completed Adventure mode.

  Defeat Luigi once more to unlock him.
800 Matches
- 5
  Play 800 Vs. matches with either friends or against the CPU to begin the unlocking process.
- 6
  Wait until Luigi challenges you to a fight. This will happen after you've finished the 800th match.
- 7
  Defeat Luigi to unlock him. If you lose this fight, Luigi will challenge you to fight after every Vs. match until you have unlocked him.
