Taunts
Each character in "Mario Party 6" has special taunts that they say to other characters, though many must be unlocked by collecting stars. Each new taunt costs 10 stars. Among the characters whose taunts must be unlocked are Mario, Daisy, Boo, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Peach, Toad and Luigi.
Hidden Boards and Games
Some of the game boards and miniature games are only unlocked by finding stars or landing on special spaces. To get the "Block Star" game, roll a number that gets you to the final space on the "Solo Mode" game board. Once you get 50 stars, the two-player edition of "Block Star" is available. To get the "Endurance Alley" game, you must find 50 stars. Miniature game secrets cost 20 stars each. The "Clockwork Castle" game board costs 100 stars. To get the "Seer Tower" and "Magma Flow" games, rack up 50 stars for each.
Sound Tests
Sound tests let you hear different effects and songs from the game. To unlock them, pick up 30 stars for each while playing. The sound tests you can unlock are the Character sound test, Mini Game Mode sound test, Solo Mode sound test, Party Mode sound test, and Variety sound test.
Difficulty Settings
To make your computer opponents better at the game, collect stars and unlock new difficulty settings. You get the Harder difficulty setting and Brutal difficulty level by accumulating 30 stars for each.
Microphone
"Mario Party 6" uses a microphone, and when you say certain phrases, you trigger events. To see the character Brighton wave, say his name. Say "Fly Guy" or "Cheep Cheep" to get these types of "Mario Party" creatures to appear on the main menu screen. Say "Bullet Bill" during the miniature game titled "Verbal Assault" and the giant bullet character from "Super Mario Bros." will shoot at opponents. Any time you say "Ukiki" into the microphone, apes in the jungle scenery will throw debris at other characters.
