Super Smash Bros Melee: How Do You Get a Good Hit in a Homerun Contest?

The homerun contest in "Super Smash Bros. Melee" calls for the player to hit a large sandbag as far as possible off of a platform. The trick to this is causing as much damage as you can to the sandbag within the 10 seconds allotted. A good hit would take the bag over 1,000 feet, and can only be done if the player is able to strike the sandbag with a fully charged baseball bat strike.

Instructions

  Pick Yoshi or Fox, as they both have attack moves that inflict serious damage in a very short span of time.

  Press the "B" button rapidly as Fox to use his laser gun attack, or jump up and use Yoshi's "down + A" attack. Both of these moves cause a lot of damage without pushing the sandbag around. Repeat either move until approximately 2 seconds are left on the clock.

  Press "A" to pick up the baseball bat, and quickly move within striking distance of the bag. Press "Right" on the directional pad and the "A" button simultaneously, and hold them both down. When the clock is about to hit zero, release both buttons. This will send the sandbag flying off of the platform.
