How to Connect an S AV Cable for the Game Cube

The Nintendo GameCube home video game console was introduced as the successor to the Nintendo 64 on November 18, 2001. Featuring games on mini DVDs, the Nintendo GameCube offers multiple methods for configuring video output to a television.While they can use the standard AV cables included with the console, GameCube owners can also purchase optional additional cables, for multiple video and audio connections to a television display, including the GameCube S-Video Stereo AV Cable. Note that S-Video is only compatible with televisions featuring an S-Video port.

      Turn off the GameCube console and the television.

      Insert the square end of the S-Video stereo AV cable into the "Analog AV Out" port on the back of the GameCube console.

      Insert the black S-Video cable connector into the S-Video in port on your television. Insert the white audio cable connector into the left audio input on the television and the red audio connector into the right audio input on the television. Ensure that you insert the audio connectors into the ports labeled "In" or "Input" on the television, as they will not work when inserted into "Out" or "Output" ports.

      Power on the GameCube and your television. Tune your television to the compatible input channel for S-Video in order to view the GameCube output on the television screen.
