How to Clean a GameCube System

Before the Wii took the gaming world by storm, Nintendo had produced the GameCube console. It features standard Nintendo games such as Mario Bros., and like other consoles it can become dirty over time. So if you still own a GameCube, and are interested in getting it looking shiny and new just like when it first came out of the box, you'll be pleased to find that cleaning the console takes very little time.

Things You'll Need

  • Microfiber cloth
  • Warm water
  • Foot brush or other brush with thick bristles

Instructions

    • 1

Turn your GameCube off and remove any cables from the back of the unit. Then unplug all controllers from the ports in the front of the console. Make sure the top cover of the GameCube is closed.

    • 2

Dab your microfiber cloth in warm water but don't drench it. You only want to dampen the cloth.

    • 3

Work your cloth evenly around the top, bottom and sides of the GameCube until all dust and dirt is removed from the console. Be careful not to work your cloth too close to the fan vent on the rear of the unit.

    • 4

Use your brush to work your way inside the fan vent on the back of the unit and clean the fan blades. Work your way gently back and forth over the fan blades with your brush until it is clean. Not only does this clean the fan but it also improves performance on the GameCube.
