How to Fix a GameCube CD

The Nintendo GameCube uses a mini DVD format disc, different from the Sony and Microsoft forms of gaming software. Because these discs are so much smaller you are not able to use the devices in a CD/DVD repair buffer, so cleaning the GameCube disc if errors arise is slightly different from repairing a Sony PlayStation or Xbox game.

Damp cloth
Scratch repair kit

  Apply a small amount of cleaning solution onto a sanding pad. Each of these products comes in the repair kit. The buffer pad slightly sands down the disc while the repair cleaning solution restores the damage.

  Buff the scratched areas on the GameCube disc in a circular motion until you can no longer see the scratch on the disc.

  Wipe the disc clean with a damp cloth. You want to remove all sanded areas and repair cleaning solution.

  Wait for the disc to dry before inserting it back into the Nintendo GameCube.
