Flip over the controller and unscrew the four screws on the bottom of the unit with the tri-wing screwdriver. If you have the wireless version of the controller, there will be an extra screw in the battery bay underneath the batteries.
Separate the two halves of the controller. Be careful when doing so as to avoid breaking the red wire that connects both halves. Set aside the bottom cover so you can work with the top part.
Remove the four screws that secure the main circuit board to the unit. You can then remove this component to reveal the buttons and analog sticks of the control. Proceed to make any repairs as needed.
