List of Sonic Games for the GameCube

Sonic the Hedgehog is an action/adventure, side-scrolling platform game that was originally released for the Sega Genesis video game console. The series has spawned many sequels and other versions for various consoles, including the Nintendo GameCube. The games feature a blue Hedgehog named Sonic, who seeks to collect Chaos Emeralds and defeat Dr. Robotnik (sometimes referred to as Dr. Eggman) with the aide of his friend, Tails.
  1. Sonic Adventure DX

    • This game is an updated version of Sonic Adventure, which was originally released for the Sega Dreamcast. It features enhanced graphics, a "Camera" option that allows you to change the camera angle and over 30 levels and 50 different missions. Also, several Sonic games originally released for the Sega Game Gear portable console are playable within the game, including Sonic Drift, Sonic Spinball, Sonic Blast and Tails Adventures. Many new characters in the series make appearances in this game, including Cream the Rabbit and the small Chao creatures. The plot revolves around Sonic collecting seven ancient Chaos emeralds and defeating Dr. Eggman and the liquid-like Chaos character.

    Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

    • This sequel to Sonic Adventure includes a single-player "Story" mode or two-player "Battle" mode, where players compete against each other as characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog series in races, shooting battles, treasure hunting and many other mini-games. In "Story" mode, gamers can play on the Hero team and play as Sonic, Tails or Knuckles, or they can play on the Dark side as Shadow, Dr. Robotnik or Rogue. Both sides offer a new way to experience the game, with 30 different environments and 150 missions. Other playable characters in the game include Amy Rose, Chaos Zero and Metal Sonic.

    Sonic Heroes

    • This edition of the Sonic the Hedgehog series allows players to switch between three different characters during a mission. In the "Story" mode, the game begins with an option to choose from one of four teams, which consist of three characters each. Gamers must control the entire team on missions. This game is more known for its strategy and puzzle-solving gameplay, which differs greatly from other Sonic the Hedgehog games.

    Sonic Riders

    • This racing platform game features many of the characters from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Sonic Heroes. Gamers can play in "Story" mode or "Multi-Player" mode and race on hover boards against other characters. The plot follows Sonic and Tails as they defeat racers on Dr. Eggman̵7;s team in order to retrieve Chaos Emeralds. Winning races in the game unlocks new gear, mission modes, video clips, courses, vehicles and special characters.

    Sonic Mega Collection

    • Fans of the original Sonic the Hedgehog games will enjoy the accessibility of being able to play all of the classic Sonic games on one GameCube disc. The games here include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Spinball and Dr. Robotnik̵7;s Mean Bean Machine. You can save in the games in this version, a feature unavailable within games for the original console.
