How to Climb the Vine in Mario Super Sluggers

Beating the Buddy Jump Challenge

  Select the "DK Jungle Park" on the Mario Super Sluggers Challenge map. This is the park where the vines will be located.

  Inspect the box near Mario when you begin the level. This will gain the attention of Donkey Kong, and he will jump over the river and open the box for you, exposing a cannon.

  Jump in the cannon and let it shoot you across the park.

  Approach the three characters nearby (Dry Bones, Dixie Kong and Donkey Kong) after landing. They will challenge you to a game of catch in which you have to jump off the top of another player's head to catch a high-flying ball.

  Run to the back wall with the other player when the challenge begins. When the ball flies directly overhead, use the "A" button to jump off the other player's head to perform a high jump. A perfectly timed jump will result in a catch. This process needs to be repeated three times. This will get Dixie Kong on your side.

Getting Donkey Kong and Climbing the Vine

  Accept Donkey Kong's next challenge after attaining Dixie Kong. This time, the challenge is pitching.

  Strike out Donkey Kong by throwing the ball in his direction. Throwing three successful strikes will get Donkey Kong on your side. You can also tag Donkey Kong out at first base to complete this challenge.

  Head down (south) to find a vine. Switch players to Donkey Kong (he is available after beating him in the pitching challenge) to climb up and down the vine.
