How to Hook Up a Gamecube to a Computer

Hooking up your Nintendo GameCube to your computer may provide a better gaming experience. Many PC monitors have a higher resolution and better picture quality than non-HD televisions. Even if you have a high-quality television, you may prefer to keep your games in one spot. If you play PC games often, having your GameCube available at your computer as well may be beneficial.

Instructions

    • 1

Check your PC monitor to see what type of ports it has. Many newer monitors have several different ports, while older monitors may only have a VGA port.

    • 2

Purchase a cable to hook your GameCube up to your computer monitor online or at a video game accessories store. A VGA input looks like a small trapezoid, while an S-video input is circular.

    • 3

Plug the VGA or S-video cable into the back of the GameCube where you would normally plug in the component cables that run to your television. Plug the other end of the cable into your computer monitor.

    • 4

Plug the A/C power cord into the back of your GameCube and plug it into an electrical outlet.
