Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check that the problem is with the game itself and not the GameCube. Insert a different game into the GameCube and turn it on. If the GameCube works and only one specific game won't play, the problem is indeed with the game. If no games will work, try unhooking the GameCube and then hooking it back up again. If it still won't work, the GameCube itself may need repair.
Look for scratches on the bottom of the game. A very scratched game won't play well or may not play at all. If there are no large or visible scratches, try the game again and make sure you're inserting it the right way.
Wipe off the bottom of the disc using a soft glasses lens cleaning cloth. Work in straight, left to right motions. Do not rub the cloth in circles as this can damage the disc. Try the disc again. If the inside of the GameCube is dusty, wipe it out gently with a soft cloth or paper towel.
Purchase a CD scratch repair kit. Follow the instructions and use the kit on your game. The kit works on all discs including CD's, DVD's and video games. If you do not want to try this yourself, take the game to a video game or game store and ask if they repair games. Typically they can clean the disc for under $10.
