How to Hook a Gamecube to an HP Dual TV Tuner

There are many different ways that an entertainment peripheral can be connected to a computer. Between the different types of cable connections that are standard on most computers today, along with the various types of connection converters that can be purchased, the combinations are endless.

For example, Hewlett-Packard (HP) makes a device that is called a Dual TV Tuner. This device allows users to connect two devices to one input on a computer. These devices can be anything that matches the available inputs, including a Nintendo Gamecube console.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with Windows Media Center 2005
  • Nintendo Gamecube with output cables
  • HP AVC-3610 Dual TV Tuner with USB cable

Instructions

    • 1

      Choose which connection your Gamecube will use for its display. The HP Dual TV Tuner has S-Video and AV (red, white and yellow plugs) inputs.

      Connect the appropriate cable for your chosen connection type to the correct port on the back of your Nintendo Gamecube.

      Connect the other end of the cable to one of the corresponding inputs on the back of the HP Dual TV Tuner.

      Insert the USB cable into the back of the HP Dual TV Tuner.

      Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer.

      Open Windows XP Media Center and select the HP Dual TV Tuner from the list of available TV devices.
