Resident Evil 4 was a watershed moment for the series. A complete reimagining of the series from a gameplay standpoint, the game was an immediate hit with both fans and reviewers, and ultimately became the highest selling game in the series (until Resident Evil 5, that is).

- Resident Evil 4 is actually the sixth game in the long-running Resident Evil franchise, behind Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0.
Who Are the Publishers?
- Resident Evil creators Capcom published the game on PlayStation 2, GameCube and Wii, while Ubisoft published the game on PC. Nintendo of Australia handled the GameCube and Wii publishing in Australia.
What Gameplay Changes Does It Have?
- The previous games in the series took place in the third-person, with a fixed camera system. Resident Evil 4 changed this by putting the camera behind your character at all times.
How Are Its Reviews?
- Resident Evil 4 is widely considered to be the best in the series, and some video game publications have declared it to be the best survival horror game of all time. Naturally, this garnered many Game of the Year accolades in 2005.
How Was It Developed?
- Resident Evil 4 was actually scrapped and redeveloped almost from the start at least three times. Early promotions of the game featured the protagonist, Leon Kennedy, inside of a haunted castle--a castle that doesn't even appear in the final game.
