How to Manage Files on a GameCube Memory Card

Many people use GameCube memory cards to save data from their games. If you have too many games on one memory card, they can become difficult to organize and you can lose some games. You can avoid that by learning how to manage your files.

Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the GameCube for operation. Plug it in then insert your memory cards. Power up the GameCube. Press down the "A" button while it powers on. This will take you to the system menu where you will find the memory card screen.

    • 2

Move files from one memory card to the other. Select the file you want to move with the control stick, then press "A" and select "Move." This will move the file to the other card without leaving a copy of it.

    • 3

Copy the files to the other memory card. Select the file you want to copy using the control stick. Press "A" and select "Copy." This will transfer the file to the other memory card and leave a copy of it on the original memory card.

    • 4

Erase files from the memory card. Select the file you want to erase by selecting it with the control stick, press "A" and choose "Erase." This will permanently erase unnecessary files from your memory card, making the rest of the files easier to manage.

    • 5

Manage the files on your memory card by keeping them separated. Save rented games on one memory card and games that you own or favorite games on another memory card so they are easier to find.
