Insert the Mario Kart disc into the Game Cube game console and press the "Power" button. Follow the prompts to select your drivers, car and, additionally, the level at which you would like to play.
Select from one of the three "cups" to complete the four courses and, hopefully, become a champion. The race begins at the end of a countdown, and when the word "start" appears on the screen. As you play Mario Kart, you will grow accustomed to how the drivers and cars differ and then be able to choose accordingly. Personal preferences are purely subjective.
Collect "powerups" throughout the race, which your passenger can use to knock other racers off course or to boost your own car's speed. Be careful of miscellaneous items scattered on the track, such as a banana peel, that could send your car hurtling off course.
Choose your option at the conclusion of the race. Advance to the next course, replay the same race, or quit the game altogether.
