"Spore Hero Arena" for the Nintendo DS is a handheld installment for the long-running "Spore" series. This game lets you create and evolve creatures and then put them into battle on several planets throughout the galaxy. While the game play to "Spore" is an open-ended adventure game without a definitive ending, players can traverse a story mode by obtaining four blue meteor fragments on each world and then defeating that world's boss. Each blue fragment is linked to a quest that must be completed before you can obtain that fragment.

Traverse to the world of your choice, such as Lilypadian or Tyndale.

Locate the blue stars on your map screen. These stars mark the location where quests that will yield a blue fragment begin.

Complete each quest to earn a blue fragment. Quests can include battles with other creatures and mini-games, such as roaring into the microphone or story-based objectives. Each encounter will explain the conditions of the quest and how to earn the fragment.
