How Do You Get a Reset Stone in Dragon Quest IX?

In "Dragon Quest IX," Alchemiracles are special alchemy patterns that result in the strongest weapons and armor in the game. However, there's a catch: an Alchemiracle attempt may result in failure, consuming the weapon and all ingredients in the process. The Reset Stone enables you to undo the effects of a failed Alchemiracle attempt. The Reset Stone will only return the base weapon and not the other ingredients, at least you don't have to to start from scratch. You can find a Reset Stone from only two enemies in the game.

Instructions

Stone Guardian
- 1
  Travel to any of the following locations: The Gittish Empire, Gittingham Palace or The Tower of Nod.

  Walk around the map to trigger enemy encounters. There is a random chance that the Stone Guardian will appear to fight you.

  Defeat the Stone Guardian for a chance to receive a Reset Stone at the end of the battle. The odds of receiving a Reset Stone are one in 256.
Firn Fiend
- 4
  Travel to the Realm of the Mighty to find a Firn Fiend. Rarely, the Firn Fiend may also show in a Grotto.

  Walk around the map to trigger an enemy encounter with the Firn Fiend.

  Defeat the Firn Fiend for a chance to win a Reset Stone at the end of the battle as a reward. As with the Stone Guardian, the odds of receiving a Reset Stone are one in 256.
