How to Create a New File on Nintendogs

In the "Nintendogs" game series for the Nintendo DS, your puppy plays and bonds with you while you teach it competition-worthy tricks. If you're not happy with your dog, you might want to reset your file and start a new game. "Nintendogs" doesn't offer an obvious way to delete a save file, but you can erase yours by pressing a combination of buttons before the game loads.

Instructions

      Power off the Nintendo DS if it's on.

      Insert the "Nintendogs" game into the DS and turn the power on. Wait for the game to load.

      Press and hold "A," "B," "L," "R," "X" and "Y" together when the Nintendo copyright logo appears on the screen. If done correctly, a confirmation message displays. If the "Nintendogs" title screen appears, reset the game and try again.

      Select "Yes" to confirm and delete your save file.

      Go back to the title screen to start a new game.
