How to Change Game With a TTDS Without Turning It Off

With a TTDS cartridge, it is possible to play backup copies of your Nintendo DS and DS Lite games without the hassles of swapping out games. By storing all the games in ROM (read only memory) format on the TTDS cartridge, you can have them all with you when you're on the go without carrying around the physical game cartridges. Some of the other backup cartridges of this type require you to turn off the DS and then power it back on, but the TTDS cartridge makes things easier by letting you return to the game selection menu from within any game. You do this by simply pressing a combination of buttons on the DS.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the TTDS cartridge into Slot-1 on your DS or DS Lite and turn on the power.

    • 2

Use the stylus to select "System Options" from the bottom of the main menu.

    • 3

Select "On," which is located next to Soft Reset, if it is set to "Off." Then select "Save" to store the changes.

    • 4

Select the game you want to play from the menu listing the available titles.

    • 5

Hold down the "L" and "R" shoulder buttons before pressing the four face buttons (A,B,X,Y) to reset the DS and return to the main menu where you can select a different game.
