Instructions
Create Theme
Open R4 Theme Creator Alice. Click the ̶0;Logo Screen̶1; tab and browse for an image on your computer through the Image field. The image is shown while your R4 device is loading.
Click the ̶0;Quick Resize̶1; dropdown menu to align the selected image; if the picture is too large, for example, select ̶0;Best Fit.̶1; Other options include ̶0;Original Size̶1; and ̶0;Fit Height.̶1; Optionally, click the ̶0;Background Color̶1; icon to add a plain color behind the main image. This option is best suited for smaller pictures.
Click the ̶0;R4DS Language/Version̶1; icon from the ̶0;Text Color̶1; tab and select the desired font color. Optionally, the Mask tab allows you to add transparency to the selected logo screen image by blending it with an additional background color. If using this option, click the ̶0;Enable̶1; checkbox and solidify the transparency level using the horizontal scroll bar.
Repeat the same steps for the remaining tabs, including the Icon Screen, the File Screen, as well as the Info Screen. If you use the R4̵7;s GBA expansion, click the blue ̶0;A̶1; icon next to the Info Screen tab and modify it following the same procedure.
Export Theme
Click the ̶0;Export Theme̶1; tab from the upper right portion, which resembles a blue folder accompanied by an arrow.
Name your current theme from the Theme Title field, followed by your name from the Theme Author field. Leave all remaining options intact.
Click ̶0;Choose̶1; from the Export Location field and select where you wish to export the necessary project files, such as your computer̵7;s desktop.
Click the ̶0;Card Type̶1; dropdown menu and select your R4 version. Click ̶0;Export̶1; to save the necessary project files to the previously chosen location. Additionally, click the ̶0;Save̶1; button from the lower right-hand field if you wish to save the project for future use.
Apply Theme
Insert your R4 device̵7;s MicroSD card into your SD adapter, then connect the adapter to your computer̵7;s USB port. Allow your operating system to detect the storage unit.
Select and copy the project files you had previously exported from the application.
Browse for your MicroSD unit using the main Computer or Windows Explorer applet; such entry is typically labeled ̶0;Removable Disk̶1; and is listed among other storage media available.
Double-click the ̶0;_System_̶1; folder, followed by the ̶0;Theme̶1; directory. If no such location is available under the System folder, right-click any area within it, highlight ̶0;New̶1; and select ̶0;Folder̶1; from the ensuing context menu. Name the new directory ̶0;Theme̶1; and press ̶0;Enter̶1; to create the directory.
Paste the previously exported files into the Theme folder. Place the MicroSD unit back into your R4 device and turn on your Nintendo DS, which effectively displays the newly created theme.
