How to Fix the Black Screen on No GBA With Pokemon SoulSilver

No GBA, also known as "No$GBA," is an emulation program for Windows computers which emulates the workings of a Nintendo DS. It was created to be a back-up which allows those who own a Nintendo DS to play the games they own. However, when using No$GBA to play the game "Pokemon SoulSilver," the emulation freezes at a black screen immediately after creating a character. Luckily, this can be easily fixed using the No$GBA menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Open No$GBA and load the "Pokemon SoulSilver" ROM normally.

    • 2

Begin a new game and go through the opening text sequence.

    • 3

When prompted, choose the gender and name of your character. Once you have completed this, Professor Oak will send your character to his home. Before this happens, however, the game freezes at a black screen.

    • 4

Click "Utility" at the top of the No$GBA screen and select "Cheats" from the drop down menu.

    • 5

Click "Add New." In the window that pops up, click the "Action Replay DS" option and check the "RAW" box. Now type "No Black Screen" in the smaller typing field at the bottom of the window above "Codebreaker DS" and "Action Replay DS." This is the name of your cheat. In the larger typing field in the upper left corner of the window, above the one with "No Black Screen," type this code: 020DD9E4 E1A00000. Press "OK" when done.

    • 6

On the "No$gba Cheats" window, double click the name of the cheat you just made ("No Black Screen").

    • 7

Press "OK." If the code has been entered correctly and the cheat has been turned on, the black screen will be gone and the game will continue.
