Evolution Glitch
The U.S. version of "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky" contains a glitch that occurs with certain Pokemon when attempting an evolution. Only Pokemon whose names contain a total of 10 characters are affected by this glitch. When the evolution is initiated, the glitch causes the screen to freeze, and the game is not accessible at that point.
Evolution Glitch Fixes
You can resolve the evolution glitch in one of several ways. The easiest fix for the glitch is to alter the Pokemon's name to nine or fewer characters. You can do this at any time prior to evolution. Once the Pokemon is successfully evolved into its new form, you can change its name back to 10 characters again, if desired. The Action Replay cheat device also offers codes you can input to fix this game glitch. However, use of the Action Replay device on a game or Nintendo console may void the warranty of the system or game.
Light Box Text Glitch
The Light Box, an award randomly given to a player after defeating an enemy, has a text-based glitch that is visible directly after the box is presented to the player. Click the box "Info" area to see text reading, "A Box That's Surprisingly Slight." The last word should say "light" rather than "slight." The glitch is present in all versions of "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky" and is also seen in previous "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon" series games.
Light Box Glitch Resolution
There is no known resolution for the Light Box text glitch. However, this particular glitch has no impact on game play and is merely an in-game curiosity that will not cause any problems.
