How to Convert a GBA to DS

The Nintendo DS handheld console has two game cartridge slots built into its hardware. Slot 1 is on the rear of the device and is used to accept the smaller DS game cartridges. On the front of the DS console is Slot 2, which is used to play the older Game Boy Advance -- or GBA, as it is often called -- games. The DS automatically converts the GBA game to play on a single screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Slide the power switch to "Off" to shut the DS console down.

    • 2

Locate the indent on the bottom of the DS in front of Slot 2. Pull forward to remove the blank cover in the device's Slot 2 cartridge port.

    • 3

Push your GBA game cartridge fully into Slot 2 on the DS until it is flush with the casing.

    • 4

Slide the power switch to "On" to turn the DS on.

    • 5

Tap the "Start GBA Game" button on the touchscreen to load the GBA game inserted in Slot 2.
