Celadon Game Corner
The Celadon Game Corner, located in Celadon City, is located by its bright, neon purple lights adorning the roof and sides of the building. Inside, the only game to play is Voltorb Flip; the same game available at the Goldenrod Game Corner in Johto. However, the difference is in the prizes available. The Celadon Game Corner offers a different selection of Pokemon as prizes, such as Porygon, Mr. Mime and Eevee. In addition, the TMs available at the Celadon Game Corner are also different.
Pal Park
The Pal Park is located in Fuchsia City at the northern end of the city. The Pal Park allows a player to transfer a Pokemon from any Game Boy Advance "Pokemon" game into "SoulSilver." Applicable games include "Pokemon Ruby," "Sapphire," "Emerald," "FireRed" and "LeafGreen." Only six Pokemon can be transferred into "SoulSilver" per day. After being transferred, the six Pokemon must then be caught at the Pal Park. However, you have unlimited time to catch them and a Pokeball has a 100 percent catch rate in the Pal Park.
Additional Gym Badges
Like in Johto, there are eight gym badges to collect in Kanto, meaning eight additional gym leaders must be fought. However, unlike Johto, you can challenge these gym leaders in any order you want. The gym leaders are available in the following towns: Violet City, Azalea Town, Goldenrod City, Ecruteak City, Cianwood City, Olivine City, Mahogany Town and Blackthorn City. In addition, there is no Kanto Elite Four to fight once you have all eight gym badges.
Pokemon Trainer Red
Instead of a Kanto version of the Elite Four, Pokemon Trainer Red is able to be challenged once you have received all eight Kanto gym badges. Once you have defeated all of the Kanto gym leaders, speak to Professor Oak in Pallet Town to receive HM 08, Rock Smash. This allows you to climb Mt. Silver and challenge Pokemon Trainer Red. Based on Ash Ketchum, the famous trainer from the Pokemon anime, Red's team consists of six Pokemon ranging in level from 80 to 88.
Legendary Pokemon
New legendary Pokemon are able to be caught once you arrive in Kanto. In Cerulean Cave, the legendary Psychic-type Mewtwo can be caught. The three legendary birds, Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos, also appear in Kanto. Articuno can be caught in the Seafoam Islands while Zapdos and Moltres can be found randomly in the tall grass in any route once you have earned all eight Kanto badges. Once Red is defeated, you also have the opportunity to catch Groudon in the Embedded Tower followed by Rayquaza.
