How to Get 12 Plains Objects in Pokemon HeartGold

The Safari Zone is a customizable area in "Pokemon HeartGold" that contains several Pokemon not found anywhere else in the game. However, in order to attract these Pokemon to the Safari Zone, you must add objects from their home region. There are three Plains Objects -- Shrubbery, Red Flower and White Flower. However, the longer a Plains Object stays in one location, the more value it is given. Obtaining 12 Plains Objects does not require actually obtaining 12 items, but leaving your available Plains Objects in one area until they equal a value of 12.

Instructions

  Talk to Baoba, the game warden of the Safari Zone, when you first reach the area. He will ask you to complete an assessment by capturing a Geodude in the Safari Zone. Enter the first area of the zone and wait until you encounter a Geodude. Capture it with a Safari Ball and return to Baoba.

  Continue playing the game until Baoba calls you up on your PokeGear. This is a randomly occurring event. He will ask you to return to the Safari Zone for the second part of your assessment. Fly back to the Safari Zone and talk to him to learn about area customization.

  Swap out one of the existing areas of the Safari Zone with the Desert Area. Explore the Desert Area until you encounter a Sandshrew, then capture it with a Safari Ball. Talk to Baoba again to complete your assessment.

  Talk to Baoba after you have received the National Dex. The National Dex is received from Professor Oak after you have completed the game's main storyline by defeating the Elite Four and the Champion. Baoba will give you the ability to add Safari Zone Objects, as well as give you your first six objects.

  Wait until Baoba calls you on your PokeGear to receive the next three batches of items. These are randomly occurring calls that give you six more objects each time, for a total of 24. You need at least two Plains Objects to work your way up to a score of 12, however it is easier to wait until you receive all three Plains Objects to proceed.

  Place two or more Plains Objects in one area and wait the allotted time until they are worth 12 Plains Objects. For two objects, it takes 170 days to equal 12. For three objects it takes only 90 days to equal 12.
